Nothing is Free

I think a big idea in this story is that nothing is free. My dad tells me this saying a lot, but he always referring to the price of something. In Macbeth's case he wants to become king, and think that if he just kills Duncan then everything will be ok and that him and Lady Macbeth will ride into the sunset as a happily married couple, but that is not what happens.

Macbeth ends up having to kill a lot of innocent people just so people don't find out that he killed Duncan. Macbeth ended up losing everything just because he killed Duncan and became king. It's just like going "all in" in a poker game and end up losing so you have nothing left, but in this case it is a matter of life or death. I wish that Macbeth and Lady Macbeth would have realized the consequences if people would have found out that they killed Duncan.

Macbeth Quote

When Banquo is killed by the murderers that were sent by Macbeth one of the murderers comes back to Banquo and tells him that Fleance had gotten away, but they had killed Banquo. Macbeth killed Banquo because he found out that Banquo's children would be heirs to the throw instead of Macbeth's children.

When The murderer tells Macbeth that Fleance got away Macbeth notices some blood on The murderer's face and says "'Tis better thee without than he within." This means that Macbeth is saying that it's better that Banquo's blood is on you than it being your own blood coming out of you. I think this is foreshadowing Macbeth's death because Macbeth is saying it's better to be alive than dead.

Free Post

Over the break I went to the beach with Barton Ewing. We left on wednesday in the morning and got to destin at around 3 o'clock. The car ride was normal we stopped at Subway and that was about it, but when we got there there was a mini golf course across the street so we went there. I lost very badly, but was competitive for the first three holes. We spent our entire day there and went to sleep that night around midnight.

The next day was our last day unfortunately, but we had a great time. We ate at the Back Porch which is a seafood restaurant on the beach. Then we hung out at the beach all day where I got a very bad sunburn that hurts very badly. The next morning we left to come back to Baton Rouge. I mainly slept during the car ride so the trip went by fast. We got back to Baton Rouge at 5:00 and that was the end of my beach trip.

2 Statements

Women are more compassionate and less violent than men. I agree to this statement because in Macbeth the men are always plotting to kill each other and violence is the way to show male dominance.

Some things are destined or fated to happen. I neither disagree nor agree with this statement because in Macbeth we have not seen fate happen yet but we have seen people try to kill each other for power.

Some Nights

I chose the song Some Nights by Fun. This song's lyrics makes no sense when you listen to the song, but when you read the song's lyrics the song makes complete sense. The song is about a woman that cheated on him and that has torn him to pieces. When the song says "some nights" he is referring to how some nights he feels great and others he feels awful.

The song uses consonances at the end of each line. Like in the line "but I still wake up, I still see your ghost" The t sound is repeated over and over in the line. This son did not have many poetic uses in the song but this was the only one I could find.

NHD Draft

I feel confident about my topic in this draft. I feel like I truly have a topic that is not only a part of history but is a part of our local history. What I love about my topic is that nobody knows about. I love it when people say, "That really happened," or "I have never heard of that." It makes me feel like I taught somebody that day. I am concerned about my works cited part of my essay because I am confused about what goes on it.

I felt like the detailed outline helped me a lot because it showed me what to write about in each paragraph. The hard part was the works cited because I am confused about what it is supposed to be. When you read my paper I want you to focus on me repeating myself because I seem to do this a lot and to help me fix my works cited.

LSU Game

On the first day of our snow day the LSU basketball team would host the number 11 ranked team in the country, the Kentucky Wildcats. This has been a game I have been eyeing since the beginning of the season. This game is especially important for me because my sister's boyfriend is from Kentucky and is a huge Kentucky fan.

When the roads iced over my dad told me that there was a chance that we wouldn't go to the game, but we did because he didn't want those tickets to go to waste. This was easily the best part of the snow days for me. LSU ended up upsetting Kentucky in a game where Kentucky never saw the lead. It was a game I will never forget.

NHD Topic

My topic for National History Day is about the Baton Rouge Bus Boycott. When I heard about this boycott I didn't think that it was a big deal, but once I started researching the topic I found out that it played a huge role in the Civil Rights Movement. What I want to do is prove that this boycott was the beginning of the Civil Rights Movement, and to raise awareness in Baton Rouge about it. In some sources it didn't mention the boycott being the first, but in others it stresses this a lot. I think that this movement was the beginning of the Civil Rights Movement.

In Baton Rouge many people have never heard of the Baton Rouge Bus Boycott. I would say that 80 percent of people have never heard of it. According to my research the Baton Rouge Bus Boycott was an inspiration to the boycott in Montgomery and an influence to MLK to start the Civil Rights Movement. This is an important part of Baton Rouge's history and the fact that it is going unnoticed is mind blowing.

Day in the Life

My day is usually the same thing over and over again. First I wake up at 6:35 so I can get to the bus. I arrive to school at 7:20. I hangout until school starts, and then I go to each of my classes. I look forward to break because I am able to talk to my friends but mainly because I get food. For some reason I am always hungry  at school.

After lunch we have tutorial where I mostly do my homework. Then we have our last two classes, and then its time for basketball. Everyday of the week I either have a game or practice. I look forward to basketball because it's something I enjoy doing in the day. After basketball I will eat dinner play some PS4, take a shower, and then go to bed. That is what my day consists of.

NHD Topic

My topic is about the Baton Rouge Bus Boycott. I chose this topic because many people do not know about it. This boycott is said to have given MLK the idea of the boycotts he started. If this statement is true then the Civil Rights Movement started in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

I chose this topic because lots of people do not know that this even happened. If you asked the people of Baton Rouge about this boycott, about 75% of the people will say they have never heard of it. My goal is to raise awareness about the boycott so that people will give credit to Baton Rouge.
